Our Tanks

   POLYPROPYLENE TANKS

Plas-Mac, Inc.’s tanks range in size from 5-gallon foam tanks to 4,000-gallon skid or “T” tanks. All tanks are built to meet NFPA standards. They are fabricated from ½” or ¾” UV stabilized polypropylene in matte or smooth finish black.
The smooth option works best if the fire department plan to add decals to it.

Ordering a tank is easy. You may call, e-mail or fax dimensions and fitting locations, etc. or send us a hand drawing of what you want and we will make a CAD drawing and send it back for your review.

You may make changes to the drawing and when it is the way you want, just let us know and we will build it.

2,000 gallon and larger tanks are constructed from 3/4" thick polypropylene and 1/2" thick baffles. The smaller tanks are made from 1/2" thick polypropylene with 3/8" thick baffles.

How to Calculate the Capacity of Your Tank

To calculate the capacity of your tank, multiply the length x width x height in inches, divide by 1,728 and then multiply by 7.48. Then to deduct for the thickness of the sides and baffles, multiply your answer by .90 on a tank built from 1/2" or .875 on a tank made from 3/4" thick plastic. This will get within 5% which is close enough to get us started.

When working with a T tank, figure the top and bottom sections separately and then add them together.

If you would like to have a 10 gallon internal foam tank, then add 15 gallons (or 25 gallons for a 20 gallon tank) to your capacity to allow for it.
